'ROSE'

Rose is the foundation of our breeding program. She has an AKC Master Hunter Title, the highest level for Hunt Test dogs. Rose is an athletic, fast and powerful dog with tremendous drive and determination in the field. She loves water, and she is a strong swimmer.  Rose is very intelligent and biddable with a great training attitude. She makes training fun!

Rose is from a very special and unique breeding. She is a throwback to the Goldens who dominated the field trial world in the 1970’s and 80’s.  She was bred by Artificial Insemination using semen collected in 1994 from Sunny Sandy Max MH FDHF. Her pedigree is full of Field Champions (FC AFC) and members of the Field Dog Hall of Fame (FDHF). They include FC AFC Windbreaker’s Mighty Mo MH FDHF, one of the most recognizable names in the field trial sport. Rose’s great grand sire is AFC Holway Barty FDHF. Barty was imported from Scotland in 1976 for the purpose of improving the North American stock. Barty’s genetics have facilitated the effort to return Goldens to the original breed standard for use in the field. Their beautiful dark red coats and muscular athletic build are very distinguishable from show bred dogs that have become the American standard.

At home Rose is a very affectionate girl who thrives on attention. She is always ready to play any game, if it involves her humans.  She is very creative in her ways of getting attention; she can be clownish and entertaining. She especially likes children and playful dogs.
